While listening to the Streets May Be Icey mixtape by Cash Daddy (terrible, terrible name btw), I couldn't help but keep returning to the line "if you don't sell drugs, why rap about it/and if you do sell drugs, why rap about it". So common sensical yet seemingly so ignored in this day in time. The line definitely resonated loud and clear throughout the week as I tried to find the golden ticket of goodness in Jeezy's newest (The Recession), as apparently Mr. Patty Cake, Patty Cake Microwave has the streets and the screens going nuts again. Now mind you, Jeezy is the only rapper who is whack enough to make me physically sick. Literally. The Inspiration was one of the most tedious and stomach-churning experiences of my music listening lifetime. But the bul has stepped his bars up.
Back to the topic at hand. Obviously rappers are liars. However one must ask, why would rappers be allowed to lie so profusely and consistently about their status as street generals, and why would real deal hooligans decided to pick up a pen to put some words on a beat? The answer - extortion. Perhaps the world's true oldest profession. I see you Cass.
